Description[]

The Doomsword is a weapon in The Sims Medieval, which can be forged by the Blacksmith after reading Manual of Blacksmithing: The Cursed Doomsword.

Unlike most other blades, Doomsword's inherent quality is legendary, thus it does not gain bonuses when crafted at legendary quality. (The other similar example is the Angel's Talon). In addition, it does not gain additonal +1 to Attack after being sharpened, probably because 10 is the highest value allowed in-game.

Wielding the Doomsword will give a Doomed debuff (-50 focus), even if only for sharpening. The debuff clears as soon as the blade is put in the inventory, however.

When forging the Doomsword, it starts with 13 mistakes until it's quality drops. This may be a reference to the fact that some people believe the number 13 to be unlucky.

To get the achievement "Darkness Unleashed" the Doomsword must be crafted by the Blacksmith. If it is crafted by a Monarch who has been transferred from another Kingdom during the special quest (Brave New World), the achievement does not appear. It is also advisable to store the manual in a bookshelf and the hilt and blade in a forge that is not used, because items in the inventory can disappear.

Uses[]

  • Equipment, Sword
  • The doomsword is extremely useful for winning sword matches, whether sparring, duelling, or duelling to the death, and can be used to quickly kill several people in the kingdom. For this reason, it is very prudent to use one to achieve the "Graveyard Shift" achievement.

Trivia[]

  • The beast the description is referring to is quite likely the beast in the pit of judgement where the doomsword's parts are found.
